A big congratulations to our Chief Instructor for being appointed the official Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Karate-do World Union (UK)’s Chief Referee.
Well done and all the hard work, courses, meeting and homework have paid off in being appointed to this senior position within the association.
Big congratulations go to all that successfully passed their Dan grade on Sunday in Stretford, Manchester, a lot of hard work has paid off.
Very well done to all.

Well done to all that entered the recent competition in Oldham and also those that made the journey to Darlington in August. It was a pleasure to see all the kids competing in Kumite and doing themselves and their parents proud. You were all great ambassadors for the club and it was good to see some of you placing in the top three in your category’s. Also a massive thank you to the parents who have supported the kids wherever they have been competing.

Well done to all those that graded, some excellent grades from both Adults and Children. A special mention to Dave Parish and Steve Brereton on a demanding grading which had them working for over 90 minutes with a break of 2 minutes, a well deserved and hard earned brown belt.
Well done all and keep training, do not slack off. We will be having some fighting lessons on the Friday nights up until the Xmas close down, so get down to Beswick and make use of the Kumite mats. I know those that have been down on Fridays are enjoying the mats and the adults are enjoying being thrown about by one and other 🙂

Sensei James “Jim” Bentham will be holding a summer course on the 28th July. I encourage all the children to attend and get to meet other people / children from various clubs whilst training. Those that have trained with Sensei Jim before will know that he is very knowledgeable and puts the teaching across very well, there will also be prizes/awards on the day. The course is for two hours and the cost is only £10, if you are interested please contact Sensei Jim (email at bottom of poster) or myself asap to book your place, if enough people book onto the course he may look at putting more on throughout the six week holiday.
